Federal investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board are taking over the investigation into the death of a man at the Long Island Rail Road station in Lynbrook.
The incident occurred on April 5, just after 8 p.m. Riders say the man may have fallen through the gap while he was trying to get on to a train.
The NTSB has not released any results of its investigation, but told News 12 that a preliminary report is expected to be released next month.
The LIRR declined to comment, directing News 12's questions to the NTSB.
