Dozens of cars, along with the Massapequa Fire Department, hosted a car parade Thursday to show love and support for one of their own.
Last month, doctors discovered that Jessica Venditto was developing blood clots from an open-heart surgery she had in 2011. Venditto was born with pulmonary atresia, a rare heart defect that makes it hard for blood to flow to the lungs.
Doctors say the 26-year-old is too sick for a sixth open-heart surgery or a heart transplant so there is nothing else they can do for her.
The Venditto family and the community raised funds to help bring Jessica home from the hospital to make her as comfortable as possible.
News 12 first met Venditto when she was 10 months old, and doctors didn't expect her to survive. Venditto is known for her motto, "every day is a great day."
