News 12’s morning anchor Elizabeth Hashagen made a personal announcement about her health.

“Over the summer I had what looked like a pimple on my nose that wouldn’t come out, and I went to my dermatologist Dr.P and asked her, hey what's going on with this thing, she said that’s not a pimple. We tried several non-surgical procedures to have it go away, but it just kept coming back and a biopsy confirmed that it's cancer,” said Hashagen.

Hashagen also made public her skin cancer diagnosis on Instagram.

During her announcement, Hashagen asks viewers to "please get checked."
