Newburgh man charged after threats prompt evacuation at Orange County building

A Newburgh man has been charged with making terroristic threats at an Orange County building.

Joseph Jamieson, 40, was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office after an incident last Tuesday at the county’s Social Services Building at 3 Washington Center in Newburgh.

Jamieson allegedly made threatening statements toward staff, leading to an evacuation of the building. Nothing was found during the response.

Jamieson was arraigned in Newburgh City Court and remanded to the county jail.
