A New York City bakery is going viral for its sweet role in Bad Bunny’s new music video for the song NUEVAYoL, which was released on Friday and already has more than 3 million views on YouTube.
Part of the music video shows cakes being rolled into a party and Bad Bunny standing next to one of them.
The cakes were from Valencia Bakery, which has five locations in New York City, including the Bronx and Brooklyn.
The owner, Arnulfo “Raul” Valera, told News 12 that Bad Bunny’s team placed the order in its Brooklyn location earlier this year for four tiered cakes.
Valera said the music video was shot back in February, but the bakery was not allowed to say anything until now.
Valera said, at first, they were confused because they did not know what the order was for, until they showed up on set at Bronx Community College and saw Bad Bunny himself.
“[Bad Bunny] started recording his video,” Valera said. “He started singing on top of the platform that he was on, and one of my coworkers says, ‘Hey, do you see who’s there?’ I said, ‘Who?’ I turned back around and said, ‘Oh, Bad Bunny!’ I was so surprised, I got so excited.”
Valera said bakery employees did not have the opportunity to interact with Bad Bunny, but the bakery owner said it was an honor to be a part of the music video because the Puerto Rican rapper means so much to the large Puerto Rican community in New York City.
