A newly released report shows that more Bronx and city residents are going hungry.
According to the report released by Congressman Anthony Wiener, the number of meals served by the city?s food pantries and soup kitchens rose towards the end of 2005.
The report also found the city turned down $739 million in available federal anti-hunger funds last year. The congressman says as a result, a half million eligible New Yorkers were left without food stamps.
