COVID-19 positivity rates are dropping across the tri-state region and with that comes reopening concerns. There are also changes to travel as more and more states open up.

Dr. Frank Illuzzi, the medical director of Specialty Services Hartford Healthcare, says everyone is doing what they need to do. Vaccination rates are high, and he urges anyone who hasn't gotten one to do so.

Dr. Illuzzi is also encouraging parents to get their children vaccinated. He says this will help reduce transmission and is one of the best ways to keep kids safe.

U.S. air travel is booming. Las Vegas is fully reopened with capacity at businesses at 100%.

Dr. Illuzzi says he understands that people want to get back to traveling. He urges again that the safest way to travel is to get vaccinated. Illuzzi also says many airlines still require masks.

One thing is when you are in another state, Iluzzi says you should try to dine outdoors when possible and be careful when in a crowded place indoors.

Illuzzi says it's important to be understanding because not everyone is ready to ditch the masks.

Moderna is now seeking full approval for its COVID-19 vaccine in people 18 and up. Those shots are currently being administered on an emergency basis.

Moderna is asking the Food and Drug Administration to issue that full approval within six months.
