Nassau University Medical Center cut the ribbon Tuesday on its newly remodeled mental health clinic.
The facility is in the main body of the hospital and will offer services including individual and group therapy.
Previously, patients seeking mental health care had to visit a separate building on the NUMC campus.
Doctors tell News 12 they believe this move will help to reduce any stigma that comes with mental health.
NHCC Interim President Megan Ryan tells News 12 the renovation cost $62,000, some of which is offset by donations, and now gives patients elevator access, central air conditioning and improved security at the new facility.
