The new year brings the start of the new Medicare prescription plans. On Monday, the part D prescription drug benefits take effect.
But many residents say they are confused by all the choices and need help deciding which plan is best. The government has created a website to help people answer that question. The problem is many Medicare recipients don?t have access to the internet.
According to Robert Hayes of the Medicare Rights Center, it?s nearly impossible to ask people with severe disabilities and cognitive impairments to figure out which of the 50 or 60 different plans are best for them.
