A 31-year-old man accused of tossing his nephew down a flight of stairs while on drugs is in critical condition Tuesday.
Police say Tommie Blaylock was high on PCP when, during a fight with his sister, he picked up his 3-year-old nephew and flung him down a flight of stairs. The boy was rushed to the hospital with contusions and abrasions around his face and head, but has since been released and is home with his parents. Hospital officials expect him to make a full recovery.
Police say it took eight officers to restrain and subdue Blaylock, who was charged with resisting arrest, first-degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor.
