Nassau University Medical Center held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open its new community outreach center.
The location will specialize in helping Long Islanders who have been impacted by the criminal justice system.
Officials say the outreach center will also offer families numerous other services under one roof.
"We are going to have a food pantry, a career development, emergency housing access and a whole bunch of other services here," explained hospital CEO Megan Ryan.
Nassau University Medical Center is scheduled to hold an open house for its new community outreach center on Sept. 17.
