Nassau police say the body of a 29-year-old woman was discovered Saturday in the basement of a home in Hempstead.
Officers responded to a 911 call at the residence on Botsford Street and found the victim with multiple stab wounds.
A family member who claimed to live in the home says the victim was a loving mother.
"She loved her son, she was such a sweet person," she said.
Nassau police have not released any information about suspects or arrests.
