Nassau County police are promising to take more safety precautions at parks in the area following a deadly shooting in Old Bethpage.
Just over a week ago, 22-year-old Stefon Pierre was killed in what police are calling a drug deal gone bad at Haypath Park in Old Bethpage.
Police and Oyster Bay town officials gathered Tuesday night to give an update on their action plan.
Officials say they have made changes since the shooting – they say park gates are being locked every night and security cameras are being enhanced.
Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder also promised to conduct a safety assessment of every county and town park.
