Nassau police say five family members died in a Syosset shooting on Sunday.
Authorities say the incident happened on Wyoming Court around noon.
Police say Joseph DeLucia Jr., 59, lived in the home with his mother, who recently died. According to police, Delucia may have been upset by circumstances surrounding the sale of the house.
On Monday, police say DeLucia killed four family members before killing himself.
Police identified the family members as Joann Kearns, 69, Frank DeLucia, 64, Tina Hammond, 64 and Victoria Hammond, 30.
Police say the four family members were found in the house. DeLucia was found outside the residence.
Mary Macaluso, a licensed associate real estate broker, tells News 12 that she had an appointment with the family at the Wyoming Court home at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. It was to view and evaluate the property. The Bethpage agent said when she arrived police were already blocking off the street.
Nassau police say they have not been able to confirm any specific mental health problems the 59-year-old auto mechanic had been dealing with.
Detectives say DeLucia Jr. did not have a handgun permit.
They are working to figure out how he got ahold of the shotgun.
From their investigation so far, officers say it does not appear DeLucia Jr. was being cut out of the will.
