Nassau police, medics help woman deliver baby in Westbury

Authorities say they received a call about a 35-year-old woman in labor around 2:30 a.m.

Medics and officers with the Nassau County Police Department helped a woman deliver her baby early Monday morning in Westbury.

Authorities say they received a call about a 35-year-old woman in labor around 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival at the residence, they assisted as she delivered a healthy baby girl.

Medics cut the umbilical and provided additional medical care to the mother before they were both taken to a hospital via ambulance.

Police say they are listed in stable condition and are doing well.
