Nassau officials have announced that they are moving forward with a plan to build a new police academy on the campus of Nassau Community College.
It will replace the current academy located in Massapequa Park and will be used to train Nassau police recruits.
When complete, the move would save taxpayers about $700,000 a year.
There is no word when it could be completed.
