Nassau: Officers being outfitted with protective gear for potential coronavirus cases

Nassau County is taking measures to protect its police officers from the coronavirus.

Nassau County says it is taking measures to protect its police officers from the coronavirus.
County officials announced Friday that all Nassau police officers will be outfitted with protective equipment.
That includes special masks, gloves, eye protection, gowns and disinfectants.
Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder says the gear will be used for all cases involving someone who is showing symptoms of the virus.
Officers will receive information regarding a subject's symptoms through a messaging system.
