A Supreme Court judge ruled Friday to delay the legal battle for control in the Nassau County Legislature until next week.
Judge Antonio Brandveen will continue listening to arguments over who should be Presiding Officer and Minority Leader on Tuesday. However, some political experts say the case ? and the 11 lawyers involved ? could prove to be a drain on the public?s time and tax dollars.
Experts say taxpayers are responsible for all legal fees involved in the case and add that important legal decisions must be put on hold until the situation is resolved.
