Nassau HUB eyed as possible site for new casino

The Nassau HUB is being considered as the site for a new casino.
The state is in the process of opening applications to build three new casinos in the downstate area.
Las Vegas Sands, one of the largest gambling companies in the world, is looking to apply for the right to build a casino on Long Island. News 12 has learned it specifically is looking at the property surrounding the Nassau Coliseum.
However, officials say a casino wouldn't happen anytime soon.
There is a state board in charge of reviewing applications for casinos and recommending facilities to get licenses.
The state says no decision or licenses are expected until next year.
