The Nassau HUB is being considered as the site for a new casino.
The state is in
the process of opening applications to build three new casinos in the downstate
area.
Las Vegas Sands, one of the largest gambling companies in the
world, is looking
to apply for the right to build a casino on Long Island. News 12 has learned it
specifically is looking at the property surrounding the Nassau Coliseum.
However, officials say a casino wouldn't happen anytime soon.
There is a state board in charge of reviewing applications for casinos and
recommending facilities to get licenses.
The state says no decision or licenses are expected
until next year.
