Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman signed a bill Monday banning transgender athletes from competing in girls and women’s sports teams at county-run facilities.

The measure was approved by Nassau lawmakers in June, according to officials.

It is similar to an executive order Blakeman introduced earlier this year, which was struck down by a state Supreme Court judge.
