Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi said Thursday that he is opposed to tolls on the Long Island Expressway (LIE).
Suozzi had suggested the controversial plan to charge drivers on the LIE during peak traffic hours. That plan was highly criticized by both Republicans and Democrats. And while the Democratic gubernatorial candidate says congestion pricing fees entail a range of possibilities, none of those will be tolls.
Suozzi says he is putting together an eight-member committee to study traffic problems and offer viable solutions.
