The Nassau County district attorney unveiled an indictment against a Hempstead man accused of dealing drugs and participating in dogfighting.
Prosecutors say they recovered more than 1,000 pills from Kevin Brown's home that they say contained fentanyl.
"Sixty-five thousand lethal doses of fentanyl were recovered," said Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly. "That could kill thousands of people in Nassau County if it had hit the streets."
Donnelly says seven dogs that appeared trained to fight were also found at the home. Six of the animals were allegedly tethered with heavy chains, with no access to water or food.
Authorities say all of the animals had injuries - signs that they were used for dogfighting.
