(09/07/07) HEMPSTEAD (AP) - Nassau County Police say a business called the LI Confidential Escort Service, was actually practicing the world's oldest profession.
Police say the owner, 54-year-old Anthony Scrimenti of Manorville, is being charged with promoting prostitution.
Police say a woman, 28-year-old Sandra Rosado of Cambria Heights, Queens is being charged with prostitution. Another employee, 47-year-old Debra Korn of Wantagh, was previously arrested and charged with prostitution. Police say the women had offered to "engage in sexual activity" with an undercover detective at hotels in Hicksville and Woodbury.
Police say the investigation is continuing and that the Nassau County district attorney's office is considering charges of money laundering and falsifying business records.
Police believe as many as eight other women may be connected to the case and said more arrests are pending.
