The Museum of American Armor in Bethpage held a vintage parade Saturday morning, marking the anniversary of the end of World War II.
In attendance was 94-year-old veteran Gil Blum, of Roslyn, who was honored for his service.
"We were stunned but it was over, that terrible war ended. We reflected on those who weren't going home," Blum said during the ceremony.
His platoon is credited with liberating the Nordhausen concentration and slave labor camps in Germany.
