Several fires broke out across the Hudson Valley over the weekend, including the sixth fire reported in Yonkers in just one week.

Two of the fires happened Sunday, including one in Yonkers, officials said.

That fire broke out just after 4 p.m. on the second floor of an apartment building on Wakefield Avenue. Fire officials said the flames were brought under control in about 35 minutes.

Crews also responded to a fire Sunday at a two-and-a-half-story apartment building on 10th Avenue in Mount Vernon.

Saturday, firefighters battled a two-alarm apartment fire in Elmsford. Investigators said it started just after 2:30 p.m.

Four units were initially affected, but firefighters were able to limit smoke and fire damage to two units, officials said.

Several residents were displaced and are now staying in temporary shelters or with family members.

One resident described seeing flames shooting high into the air and rushing to gather belongings before leaving the building.

Officials said no injuries were reported in any of the fires.

The causes of all three fires remain under investigation.
