A Hicksville man affiliated with MS-13 has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for an armed sexual assault and other violent crimes.
The Nassau County District Attorney’s Office says Jayden Abadi Alvarado Velasquez, 40, subjected a 32-year-old woman to months of abuse and harassment after meeting her at a neighborhood deli in August 2023.
Some of his offenses included smashing her cellphone, attacking her during a dispute inside her vehicle and threatening to cut off her hands.
Investigators say he told the victim that he murdered and buried a former girlfriend near a psychiatric center in Brentwood before threatening to do the same to her.
He later drove her back to his home and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.
He also sent intimidating text messages including a video of two firearms he previously threatened her with.
Velasquez was arrested by Nassau County Police Department’s Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team on Nov. 29 of 2023.
A jury convicted him of predatory sexual assault, criminal possession of a weapon, attempted assault, criminal possession of a weapon, assault and aggravated harassment in May.
