Mothers celebrated with their families in-person Sunday following a year somewhat in isolation because of the pandemic.
The Golden Reef Diner in Rockville Center was packed in their outdoor tent as people came to celebrate Mother's Day.
Many people say this is the first time they have been out with their mothers since the start of the pandemic.
Rockville Centre resident Ruth Hochman says her son and daughter-in-law came out to have brunch with her.
"And I got a hug, which was wonderful," Hochman says.
The statewide COVID-19 infection rate is below 1.5% once again for the second day in a row.
