Moonachie couple charged in fake home invasion report

Officials say that the couple’s stories kept changing and it was determined that no home invasion took place.

A Moonachie couple is accused of calling in a fake home invasion robbery and shooting.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office says Juan Rodriguez Santos and Lisa Palacio called 911requesting the police. Officials say when officers arrived, they found Rodriguez Santos with a gunshot wound in his leg. Rodriguez Santos told police that an armed, masked person came into the house and tried to rob him.

Officials say that the couple’s stories kept changing and it was determined that no home invasion took place. They say that Rodriguez Santos shot himself in the leg and that Palacio hid the gun.

The couple now faces multiple charges.
