A reminder from mail carriers to keep walkways clear of any leftover snow, the US Postal Service says to get out and shovel sidewalks in areas near your mailboxes so letter carriers can safely navigate the ice and snow. Postal Service says if you don't do this, you may not receive your mail.

This morning, the LIRR is operating on a Sunday schedule due to the storm. That means there will be less peak service on every branch. If you're commuting today, check the train time app before heading to the station. Every branch is being affected. There are some additional delays out there. We're keeping an eye on how service is running throughout the morning.

Clouds across the island have been working throughout the storm to clear the roads for everyone. That includes the town of Huntington Highway Department. They are taking our Jen Selig on a ride along this morning to see how the conditions are looking there. Hi Jen. Hey guys, yeah, the snow is starting to fall once again. We are at the DPW garage right in Elwood. I'm with Andre Sorrentino. You are the highway superintendent for the town of Huntington, and how has it been so far? It's been challenging. It's been, uh, you know, it doesn't want to stop snowing, as you can see it's covering again. So we're just round 2, round 2 for today. You know, we have been parked here in our news car for like 25 minutes and trucks have been coming in and out, so you guys are obviously working around the clock. Everybody worked through the night, you know, we're just trying to take it, take it slow because it's been, it's been a hectic one, you know. We've got a lot of snow. It's heavy. This one, this one was a good test, that's for sure. I know a lot of people out on the roads. You have to be mindful with these snowplow trucks because they're huge. You want to give space, so we're actually going to hop into one. And get like a real look of what that's like. Well, we're ready to go anytime you're ready. I'm driving, so all right, all right, so we have to get the truck. We're going to obviously get in there, hop on some of the roads, and check out some of the conditions there. So stay tuned for that. With the snow piled up across the island, the focus now turns to digging out. So what are the conditions like out on the road in your neighborhood? News 12's Jonathan Gordon is live in Seaford now with the latest there, Jonathan. Yeah, good morning, Rich. Erin, uh, we decided to stop by here at the Sea Seaford LARR station. Some commuters finally making their way out this morning. It's been a very quiet morning. I think a lot of people, if they can work from home, they are working from home. I want you to take a look first at the parking lot. did a nice job plowing this area out, but you could see these flurries talking about this morning. Take a look. I mean, they're starting to come down once again, uh, and they're sort of these big flakes again. So obviously, uh, you know, that we'll see how much that adds up throughout the morning, but that's something. People are now dealing with this morning did a very nice job here getting everything ready for commuters this morning here actually, you know, if you're going through it's all well salted and well cleared out, so that's obviously good. It's obviously it's a Sunday schedule here today so you have it's a little bit slower at the train station, but of course we're keeping our eyes, you know, on sort of how these road conditions are. People have to still get out of their homes, dig out, get here, and everything else, so. We'll continue to be out here as we go throughout the morning here in Thunderbolt, keeping an eye on how these flurries may impact the rest of the morning commute and seeing if people even are out again, you know, as I was saying before, we've been out to a couple of places this morning, places that normally would be out open early this morning are not open early this morning, bagel places, coffee shops, so we might start seeing that open up later this morning or people might be starting recognizing that it's a long cleanup and they might be sort of pushing that off. So we'll keep an eye on all of that as we go throughout the morning. For now we'll send it back to you guys.
