A man was arrested for abusing his 4-year-old dog in Middle Island.
Ronald Weldon, 49, pinned his German Shepherd "Bennie" onto the ground and punched him several times, according to the Suffolk SPCA.
The incident happened in April, but he was just arrested last Thursday.
Weldon is set to be arraigned on one misdemeanor count of animal cruelty when he faces a judge on Feb. 6.
