Dozens of protesters marched in Merrick Friday night to call for racial equality.
The rally was put together by the group Long Island Peaceful Protest.
Organizers say they will be holding demonstrations every day until their voices are heard.
"I feel the message is getting there slowly but they still need it because we continue to face opposition so we're going to continue fighting today, and we're going to continue going on every day in a peaceful manner as we have, said Terrel Tuosto.
The group chanted and held up signs to support the Black Lives Matter movement as they walked about five miles to Bellmore and back.
