John's Crazy Socks will be celebrating five years in business with a pop-up house party at its Melville warehouse Saturday.
The company has created over 3,000 socks and shipped its merchandise to 88 countries. However, John Cronin says his biggest accomplishment is that the company has hired 32 people with different abilities.
His father, Mark Cronin, says their mission is to spread happiness, but above all is to hire people with different abilities because they want to show what people with different abilities can do. He adds that more than half of the company's workforce is comprised of employees with different abilities.
John Cronin says he looks forward to celebrating the company's success by meeting its customers on Saturday.
The pop-up open house party will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature a visit from Santa Claus, photo ops with John Cronin, tours of the warehouse, games and giveaways.
Mark Cronin says the current inventory of over 3,800 socks makes his son the owner of the largest sock store. John's Crazy Socks has also donated over $450,000 to its charity partners, with John donating over $100,000 to the Special Olympics -- more than any other Special Olympic athlete has ever done.
As far as concerns over supply shortages, Mark Cronin assures the company will be able to deliver customers' orders in that they're shipped out the day they are received.
