Meadow Drive Elementary in Mineola hosted a school-wide walk Wednesday to support Fiona McHugh, a second grader battling Type 1 diabetes.
The event aimed to not only uplift Fiona but also raise awareness for juvenile diabetes.
Fiona says she's grateful for the support.
"It just feels great and I love all my friends just surrounding me and stuff," said Fiona.
Students wore blue shirts with the phrase "FIONA'S ONE-DERFUL WARRIORS" in honor of their fellow classmate.
