With the threat of coastal flooding for South Shore communities, Mastic Beach residents say they’re prepared for this next round.
Parts of Mastic Beach, specifically around Oceanview Drive, got hit hard during January’s storm.
Bruno, who’s lived there for the last eight years, says the first storm in January brought almost two feet of water to his home.
He says even with crews prepping storm drains, water still floods the street.
"They were cleaning drains and so forth. They got rid of the water for a little bit and I looked the next day. It was really high tide and that spot over there just filled up again," he said.
Those living along the low-lying areas on the South Shore should use extra precaution Tuesday when driving.
