Massapequa teen files suit against vaping company, Big Tobacco
A Massapequa teen has filed a class-action lawsuit against a prominent vaping company and Big Tobacco over the health impacts of flavored electronic cigarettes.
Shawn Hochhauser, 19, filed the suit against Juul, Altria and Phillip Morris. Hochhauser says he started using mango-flavored pens at 15 years old and now suffers serious health issues.
Hochhauser claims he wouldn't have started vaping if he'd known that Juul products were highly addictive and contained high concentrations of nicotine.
The suit claims Juul's ads manipulate users. Altria and Philip Morris have a 35 percent ownership in Juul.
