A Manorville man who pleaded guilty to killing his coworker has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.

Faustino Cruz-Marquez admitted to choking Maria Velasquez-Zhau to death after an argument at Cosmos Farm in Manorville in 2020.  

Velasquez-Zhau’s body was later found in a wooded area on the outskirts of the farm.

DNA evidence linked Cruz-Marquez to the victim's murder.
