Man stabs woman, flees in her car before crashing in Patchogue

A man has been arrested after stabbing a woman in Patchogue.

Frank Redd, 43, of North Bellport, was involved in an altercation with a female victim who is known to him, Suffolk police say.

The fight happened in a car on Medford Avenue around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police tell News 12 Redd stabbed the woman and then stole her car.

Redd eventually crashed the vehicle and abandoned it on Medford Avenue.

Officers located him a short time later and arrested him.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Redd is facing assault, robbery and weapons possession charges.
