A man was shot while driving early Sunday morning in Commack, according to Suffolk police.

Authorities say the victim was traveling southbound on Commack Road when the occupant of another vehicle fired shots at him around 2:15 a.m.

The victim took himself to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment. He is expected to be released later today.

The events leading up to the incident were not immediately clear.
