Police say a man is in critical condition after he was shot in the head in Williamsburg.
Officers were notified of the shooting at 275 Jackson Ave. just before 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
The 39-year-old man was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull by private means before police arrived, the NYPD says.
Sources say the shooting happened in the courtyard and parking lot area of the NYCHA houses.
Neighbor Takisha Speller say she's hoping the unidentified man pulls through.
“He still gotta live life. He still gotta lot of life to live," said Speller.
Speller says it's also scary that it happened in broad daylight.
“Kids getting out of school. No good. They got to do something better. The children is what we worried about," said Speller.
Other people like Lord say this doesn't happen a lot in the area.
“I was feeling good at the fact that nothing was going on over here. I took pride in telling people that, but I always walk my head up because, you know, it could happen anywhere, you know," said Lord.
Sources close to the investigation say they're looking for two men who ran away from the scene.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the NYPD.
