Man killed in Copiague hit-and-run crash

According to police, the man was walking northbound across Montauk Highway when he was struck by a westbound gray sedan around 8:44 p.m.

Police say a man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Copiague on Wednesday night.

According to police, the man was walking northbound across Montauk Highway when he was struck by a westbound gray sedan around 8:44 p.m.

The driver then fled the scene, continuing westbound on Montauk Highway.

The man has been identified as Louis Lasusa, 69, of Massapequa Park

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852- 6553 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
