Man charged with DWI after car slams into St. James home

Police say four people were injured after a car slammed into a St. James home and burst into flames this morning.
The incident happened on Bayberry Drive around 4 a.m.
Police say Jose Ayala was driving drunk when he veered off the road and into a home.
According to police, the 21-year-old and two of his passengers made it out safely.
News 12 has learned a police officer pulled a third passenger from the burning car.
All four people in the vehicle and a police officer were hospitalized and are expected to be OK.
Police say the house was occupied at the time of the crash, but no one inside was injured.
Ayala was arrested and charged with DWI.
