Man arrested for striking 13-year-old bicyclist with vehicle
He is charged with assault and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in personal injury.

A Deer Park man has been arrested after allegedly striking a 13-year-old bicyclist with a vehicle in West Islip.
Suffolk police say Charles Dreitlein, 67, struck the bicyclist at the intersection of Ruth Street and Kane Street at around 7:35 p.m. on Sunday. Dreitlein then continued on Roderick Road without stopping, according to police.
After an investigation, police arrested Dreitlen outside his home Monday evening. He is charged with assault and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in personal injury. He is to be arraigned on Tuesday at the First District Court in Central Islip.
