On Oct. 18, 2025, at his home in North Amityville, Bryan Ventura-Ramirez took a gun and pointed it at his best friend’s chest, the prosecutor said at the defendant's arraignment on a grand jury indictment.
She said Ventura-Ramirez pulled the trigger and fatally shot 17-year-old Robin Moscoco-Hernandez.
His attorney, Gregory Grizopoulos, said that Ventura-Ramirez didn't know the gun was loaded, and that it was an “accidental shooting.”
The prosecutor said a gun, which was missing a serial number and appeared to have been made using a 3D printer, was recovered from the defendant’s bedroom.
“In this disturbing case, a 20-year-old allegedly possessed an illegal gun and ended up shooting and killing his friend," said District Attorney Ray Tierney.“Ghost guns and illegal firearms of any kind have no place in Suffolk County.
Ventura-Ramirez is out on $300,000 bond. He has GPS monitoring and must be home each night by 9 p.m.
Robin Moscow-Hernandez’s family did not attend the arraignment.
