Police say they had to blow out a truck's tires to stop a wrong-way drunk driver Tuesday evening on the Long Island Expressway.
They say it happened around 10 p.m. in Plainview when they got a 911 call about a swerving box truck going east in the westbound lanes.
The truck allegedly cut across the center median near Exit 52 and kept going east, now in the proper lanes.
The officers blew out the tires using "stop sticks" near Exit 62 in HolBrook
A Queens man was arrested and charged with DWI in the incident.
