4ds agoThe Malverne High School marching band is a finalist in a nationwide competition launched by Metallica.
Student musicians had over a dozen Metallica songs to choose from. They picked "Enter Sandman" because of its dream theme.
The "For Whom The Band Tolls" contest features over $180,000 in prize money. Malverne is competing for a $15,000 prize in its division.
Winners will be announced the week of Jan. 1.
