All right. It's time now for our main street Long Island Series and today we are in Glen Cove News 12 Long Island. Jen Selig is along the north shore now and she is visiting every place. This is an iconic place, Jen where you're at right now. Tell us about it rich for people watching. If you have not been here. I highly suggest you come here. There is so much to look at, come for breakfast, come for lunch, come for dessert. It is never too early for dessert, right? It's never too early to come out for dessert. You guys make your own chocolate, your own ice cream. I mean, what's the fan favorite here? Fan favorite? I guess some people start with a loose snack of chocolate. Go right to the ice cream or majority breakfast. And you were telling me you used to come here when you were in high school before you owned the business and it's so cool. You see continuing customers keep coming in through the doors. It's amazing how you come in and you meet customers. We treat them like family and I think that's the main reason they keep showing up. He comes, there's many generations coming through here. And the best part is hearing the stories how one person brings their family. The next generations coming, we've had some family that three generations are coming through. It's amazing. It's great. 95 years in business. Obviously, you guys are doing something really good here for the city. 95 years, the community treats us well. Um They love us, we love the community. We try to be accommodated as much as we can. But the main reason I think we treat everybody like family. They love coming back. We got to have breakfast here. So I think we should stick around here, right. Stick around. Definitely stick around with some. I recommend the omelets, omelets. We make anything you want to make anybody's diet, any special needs, we'll take care of you. We got to check out some of the newer businesses too because the city has so much to offer here. So stick around with. We send it back to you guys in the studio. Now, Jane, the last time I was in Glen Cove, I interviewed the mayor for a power and politics segment and she said we have to go to Henry's, that's where people are in Glen Cove. That's where you're going to find the real residents of this city. So you are in the right place and we know Rich, Rich, the mayor is here. Now, she's having breakfast here. It's another Monday on main street. And for the last few weeks we've been highlighting different communities and businesses across the island. And today we are in Glen Cove. Our Jen Selig is at True Be Hill now and Jen Glen Cove, of course, just a gem of the north shore in Nassau County. It most definitely is rich. If you need a last minute personalized localized gift, this is the store. You're gonna wanna come check out Adam and your husband Ian. You guys started making candles during the pandemic at your house for a hobby. Now, you turned it into a full out business. Yes, we did. It's a dream. I can't believe it. We made it happen. You're a made on Long Island business. You make your candles right here in your shop. Yes, I make all our candles are soy wax, conwy and essential oils. I hand for them every morning before we open the shop to the public and I hand do them all. Was it your goal to have a storefront here in Glencoe when we started the business? Well, it was a hobby to begin with. We never thought we'd have a store but we kept growing and growing. So a store was, it's been so beneficial and rewarding you guys have so much to look inside here. And like you said, Adam, it's more than, you know, it's scary to start your own business, but it seems like the city is treating you guys well. Well, I've lived in Glen Cove almost my entire life. I grew up in Roslyn. Um, you know, I know this community very well. It's a very wonderful and supportive community. So, yeah, it's always, it's always a big step and you get a little nervous when you, you know, open up a store. But I don't know, I just knew this community would be supportive and not just Glen Cove, all the surrounding areas, Locust Valley Sea Cliff, Bayville, Oyster Bay. And then now we have people coming up from Garden City asking us to open a second shop down on Seventh Street. So it's very, it's all very encouraging. I love to hear that. It's nice to see you guys are about to celebrate your two year anniversary here in the city. So we'll be here for that. Thank you. Thanks for coming. Our main street Long Island Series continues today every Monday. We are highlighting our communities and this morning we are in Glen Cove. News sells. Jen Selig is at Village Square Pharmacy now and Jen Village Square really a sprawling area there in Glen Cove. Yeah, this is a hot place where to be all brand new, brand new businesses. Yuri, you just opened up your pharmacy here about a year ago and you were telling me before off camera that the community here has been treating you pretty well. Yes, I've been welcomed here. I love it. I've been welcomed with open arms and uh uh it's been very uh personal. It's been great. I love the community here. Uh What would you advise people if they have pharmacies in, you know, the big box store as opposed to the local mom and pop small business pharmacies, you get a personalized service. We know everybody by uh by name, we know uh the history, you know what they need. Uh We treat them not like the number, we treat them like a family. Basically, it's a small community. Everybody looks out for each other and it's great. This is something you wanted to do to open up your own pharmacy. So I've been a dream of mine to have my own local pharmacy. It's like an old school mom and pop shop. You know, where, you know, everybody knows your name and, you know, they just like know you individually by name. You know, what would you say? The best part about having the bill is business here in Village Square. Uh This area, I mean, the neighboring stores at the new apartments, you know, the people here are very nice and inviting and it's been a pleasure being here a year. It passed by really fast and uh I'm looking forward to many, many, many years here in serving the community. Yes. One year down and many more years to go. Thank you so much.
