Two sisters from Commack are turning their love of dance and makeup into a business, and they're using it to give back. Julia and Alyssa Schiotis are co-founders of Belyssima. With the help from mom and dad, the 12 and 17-year-olds launched the business in July 2025. "We started this because we thought young teens would like it because we're into it," said Alyssa. The sisters have been dancing since they were babies. They wanted to start a brand that blended performance and creativity, and their products support a cause close to their hearts. "We have glosses, butters, oils, and a hair gel stick. Kick It is one of our main ones to support cancer."      A portion of profits goes to Dancers Against Cancer, a charity they chose for personal reasons. "It's a charity really close to our hearts because people in our family have been affected by cancer," said Julia. "We thought it would be amazing to support a charity that supports cancer and dancers." Their products are made at a manufacturing facility in Farmingdale and sold online, and it has already drawn support from dancers around the country. "We've heard from some NFL and NHL cheerleaders and dance teams have come and support our mission," said Julia. The girls say the best part is doing the business together and hope this can inspire other young entrepreneurs. "Go for your dreams because this was only an idea like a year ago and now it's all come true," said Alyssa. Learn more about the business and Dancers Against Cancer here.
