Some Mets and Jets fans took the train Sunday to get to the games – but it will be much harder for fans to get to games if a Long Island Rail Road strike happens on Thursday.
The LIRR can be convenient to get to a lot of events.
“Going to Madison Square Garden, the train goes right to Penn Station…so it’s going to affect a lot of people trying to get to sporting events," said Terry Osterweil, of Jericho.
News 12 has reached out to MetLife Stadium, the Islanders and the Mets about the potential LIRR strike. MeltLife Stadium and the Islanders declined to comment and deferred to the LIRR.
News 12 has also reached out to other local teams and venues and have yet to hear back.
The potential strike could happen Thursday, Sept. 18.
