Some people are still searching for their holiday gifts just one day away from Christmas Eve.
Cases of COVID-19 are on the rise but shoppers at the Broadway Commons Mall in Hicksville Thursday say as long as they are cautious and wearing a mask, they are not worried about the Omicron variant.
Some doctors, however, tell News 12 that shopping can be risky.
“Given not knowing the people around them, vaccine status or even infection status because immunized infected people may be minimally asymptomatic, I think there’s reason for concern,” says Dr. Leonard Krilov, of NYU Langone.
Doctors say those who do plan on going in crowded places should not take too long and to wear mask.
