Long Islanders are ready to pack their bags and take a trip now that more restrictions are being lifted all across the country.
People like Kerri D'andria, of Hauppauge are done with having to stay home.
"Yes, we are going away, very excited finally after how many...like it feels like three years," says D'andria.
Long Islanders say they feel safe to travel.
"I got both my vaccines," says Jerry Eaolinno, of Smithtown. "I feel safe."
Robert Sinclair, a senior manager of public affairs for AAA, says people are not only traveling by plane but they are renting cars, too. In fact, he says people are even renting U-Hauls because car rentals are booking up so quickly.
Sinclair says a strong year in travel could mean a strong year for the economy because when people travel they want to do things like shop, eat and go to shows.
